Fans are expecting to see Trent Thomas Kort (David Dayan Fisher) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) to be back on the CBS crime drama series "NCIS" season 14.

Showrunner Gary Glasberg told Deadline that "NCIS" is known to be both a show and a franchise that leaves lots of things unanswered and leaves doors opens.

Glasberg said, "We revisit all kinds of things in all kinds of ways. We never say never and I'm not going to stray from that kind of approach." 

Nothing has been confirmed yet by the series producers regarding this matter. However, it will be very interesting for fans to see the twist in the storyline if these characters will be put back on the show.

In the previous season of "NCIS," Very Special Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, experienced a devastating loss when ZNN's news footage showed the conflagration of Ziva's farmhouse.

The one-eyed former CIA operative, Trent, proved to be villainous in this season. He was the one responsible for the attack on Ziva's farmhouse. Tony then ordered a manhunt for Trent who ended up being surrounded by the team. In the scene, he tried to reach for his gun but the entire Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) team unloaded on him.

Tony then turned over his badge and gun as he was going to take Tali (played by twins Emelia and Layla Golfieri) to Israel to look for answers and then head to Paris. Tali, as revealed in the finale episode of the last season, is the daughter of Tony and Ziva. She was also the lone survivor of the fire incident.

However, nothing was clearly revealed about Ziva's character and if she's dead or not. Probably more revelations will be shown in the upcoming season.

With all these possible exciting new angles for season 14, Glasberg told TV Line that he is "super-eager to reset, to move on and move forward ... and get back to the lightness and the mystery that NCIS is known for."

The premiere date of the "NCIS" season 14 has not been announced yet but is expected to be on TV screens somewhere around fall.
