"NCIS: LA" is currently producing its seventh season that will answer many questions, especially those revolving around Callen's father. He was believed to be dead until the finale revealed that he is alive. It is speculated that Callen may drop everything and head over to search for his father. What will happen when "NCIS: LA" returns this fall?

Production Manager, Rick Tunell, provided a teaser for the show's second episode in season seven. He tweeted, "Tech scouting ep#702. You'll meet someone you've been wanting to meet. #ncisla," on Aug. 1, sparking speculations on who this long-awaited character could be.

Based on rumors and fans' guesses, Callen's father may be the character Tunell is teasing. Season six did focus on Callen's past and information on his father trickled gradually throughout the recently-concluded season. Fans do want Callen's search for his father and information about his past to end. Brining his father would certainly tie up loose ends.

However, this long-awaited character could also be Deeks' mom. In previous seasons of the crime procedural drama, Deeks was believed to have no relation or family. But this changed in season five when it became clear that the agent still had a living mother. The show could explore this plotline.

Both Callen's father and Deeks' mother are characters fans have been vying to see. They have been mentioned intermittently but never seen by viewers of "NCIS: LA".

Moreover, fans of both "NCIS: LA" and its parent show, "NCIS," are in for a treat. As per TVLine, actor, Michael Weatherly, who plays agent Anthony DiNozzo on "NCIS," will crossover for at least one episode in season seven.

Slated to appear in an October episode, DiNozzzo and Deeks are a combination fans would not want to miss. It will certainly provide some much-needed laughter as the two hilarious agents come together.

Season seven's premiere episode is titled "Active Measures" and hits CBS on Sept. 21, 2015.
