'How I Met Your Mother' star Neil Patrick Harris is the latest actor to be included on the cast of 'American Horror Story: Freak Show.'

Confirmation of the news revealing the actor's inclusion to the cast of the television program broke out last week, fulfilling fans expectations sparked by rumors that initially surfaced last July.

Harris has always expressed his interest in joining American Horror Story, and in a past interview with EW Radio, said that he is a huge fan of the show's past season, 'Coven.'

"I wrote a letter to Ryan asking if I can be in it, even though I wasn't even available to be in it...I just love those series and Coven was fantastic...to do one that involves any kind of freak, circus nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch. Can't wait!" Harris said in the radio interview.

His wish did not go unnoticed as AHS creator, Ryan Murphy disclosed that he has spoken with Harris regarding the slot on the series, right after his wedding with David Burtka.

He also added that the actor already has something in mind as to what his character will be on the Freak Show cast.

"He had very specific ideas of what he wanted to do, and I had very specific ideas, so we're melding them," said Murphy in an Oct. 7 interview.

Harris will appear alongside his husband, Burtka, in his AHS appearance.

Meanwhile, AHS veteran Lily Rabe is set to reprise her role in one of the future episodes.
