2016 is quickly coming to a close, and with that brings new opportunities and new beginnings — and, for Netflix subscribers — new content. January 2017 is only two days away, which means viewers can say hello to the new movies and television shows that will be arriving on the popular streaming service.

Netflix is set to introduce over 90 titles for the month of January alone, according to reports. Sports comedy classic "Caddyshack" is debuting on New Year's Day, along with Mel Gibson's "Braveheart." Other titles that will be dropping on Jan. 1 include "Bee Movie," "El Dorado," "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," "Ocean's Twelve," "The Parent Trap," and "V for Vendetta."

A number of "Superman" films are also arriving on that day, from the first "Superman" to the fourth, and "Superman Returns." Stanley Kubrick's psychological horror film, "The Shining," based on Stephen King's novel of the same name, will also debut on Jan. 1.

From Jan. 3 to 11, titles like "Ratchet and Clank" and "Happily Married" will drop. The 11th season of the long-running FX (now FXX) show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" will also arrive in that duration. The comedy series is not particularly widespread in its popularity, but it has managed to earn a cult following of sorts. Starring Rob McElhenney (who also created the series), Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and the legendary Danny DeVito, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is set to premiere its 12th season on Jan. 4.

Netflix is also set to release an original, "A Series of Unfortunate Events," which stars Neil Patrick Harris as the iconic Count Olaf. The streaming giant has already released a ton of promotion for the upcoming series, which is set to premiere on Jan. 13.

The fourth season of "Bates Motel," an A&E series, is also coming to Netflix. Structured as a prequel to Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho," the horror-drama series will premiere its fifth and final season, with Rihanna as Marion Crane, in early 2017.
