With the release of the Nexus 5X from Google comes a number of official accessories and others that are offered by third parties. Most of these are available on retail websites and even on the Google Store where they can be purchased along with the smartphone. 

Cases

Folio cases are preferred by many and there is a good option available from Google named Nexus 5X Folio that comes with an elastomer shell. It has two color options, carbon and quartz, and each case weighs about 50.5 grams. Importantly, it protects the screen and the device as a whole in case of accidental drops.

Other cases include the Verus High Pro Shield option which is costlier than the Rearth Ringke Fusion version.

If users want superior protection for their Nexus 5X, the Speck CandyShell Grip case comes with rubber on its sides and back while the portion facing inside is covered with softer material. It also protects the smartphone against extreme temperature and is MIL-STD-810G certified. 

Charger

Google has included a charger with the Nexus 5X and so users get at least one that works with the USB Type-C port on the device which is used for charging. However, if they want an additional charger, they can invest in a similar 15w faster charger which is priced at $24.99. 

Adaptors

With the Nexus 5X having a USB Type-C port, users can get better data transfer speeds when they connect flash drives to it. But in order to do so, they will need an adaptor that converts from a USB Type-C port to a USB Standard-A and Google has helpfully provided one for users.

For those who want to stream content from their phone to a device with an HDMI port, there is another adaptor which can be used from a USB Type-C port to HDMI.
