Retailers in the UK and the US have discontinued distributing the original Nintendo 3DS.

It has been noticeable that Nintendo limited the availability of the Nintendo 3DS over the past few months while maintaining the Coral Pink version exclusively in Toys"R"Us. A few months later, the Coral Pink was removed from the retailer's site as well. The Coral Pink version is still available at Nintendo's refurbished store but the original ones are no longer for sale.

Major retailers like Target, Best Buy and Walmart have already diminished their stocks as well. Websites like GameStop US and GameStop UK includes the listing of the original 3DS but it shows no available store within 100-mile radius. But, a site called GAME has showed related results like the 2DS and the 3DS XL. This is the same for the official site of Nintendo.

According to 3DSCapture, the "original model 3DS is no longer in production and new systems are becoming difficult to find."

Meanwhile, a new version of the Nintendo 3DS has been released in Japan, Aurstralia and New Zealand: the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition.

According to NeoGAF, they have received an email from Club Nintendo promoting the limited edition 3DS. The email reads:

"Would you like to get your hands on New Nintendo 3DS before the European launch?

Dear Nintendo fan,

We'd like to thank you, one of our most loyal customers, for all your support. To show our appreciation, we're offering you the chance to purchase New Nintendo 3DS now, and get it before the official European launch!
