'One Punch Man' season 2 release date, plot rumors: Saitama to face more villains

Fans continue to wait for the announcement of the release date of "One Punch Man" season 2. While season 1's English-dubbed version has started to air on Toonami, there is still no word regarding the premiere of season 2.
According to rumors, Saitama will be back for another season by October, since the first season also debuted on that same month last year. It is also possible that the animated series will miss the October release and will be pushed back to early 2017. It is believed that season 2's release will depend on just how well-received season 1's English version will be.
Yibada also reported that Yusuke Murata, creator of the manga series that the anime is based on, has confirmed that the team is already in the first stages of production and fans can expect new episodes from season 2 soon. Although Murata said that the source materials for the anime are being updated, there is no clue as to what season 2's plot will be.
Rumors are rampant though that Saitama will soon face new villains considering he won the last time in season 1 and emerged as a hero. According to Christian Daily, Saitama's focus back in the first season was to find someone who was worthy to become his opponent. While taking down villains, he finally met a few who became a challenge for him. This is reported to continue on in the next season.
Saitama's next fight is already rumored to be against Lord Boros, Amai Mask or Garou. It is now speculated that Saitama will also face off with Melzalgald, an alien who can morph into anything. What's notable of Melzalgald is that he has five heads that can each separate and become another body form. Besides this alien, Geryuganshoop, another alien, is also rumored to be one of Saitama's opponents next season.
Since details about the plot have been scarce and only based on speculation, they should be taken with a pinch of salt. Fans should just stay tuned for more updates on the release of "One Punch Man" season 2.
