'Pokemon Go' release date: Leaked gameplay video reveals character creation, gym battle, and more

(Niantic)Highly anticipated game "Pokemon Go" to arrive soon

Gamers and fans have a lot on their plates at the moment, especially since there has been a 9-minute video showing the gameplay of the upcoming "Pokemon Go."

Those who are unfamiliar, "Pokemon Go" is a mobile game developed by Niantic that focuses on the experience of catching Pokemon in the real world. It lets players travel across the globe and check out historical spots that are converted into Pokestops where they can buy Pokeballs to catch these Pokemon. It is currently in its field testing, which began in Japan and now in Australia.

The leaked video comes from a YouTuber named Darkathion, who happens to be part of the chosen few to field test the game. It shows almost what fans and gamers are speculating regarding the game. It begins with the character creation that the players may spend a long time on since the customization is quite robust. It then shows the map and GPS location of the player. It is also good to note that the game is still in the field testing phase, which is why the map isn't much detailed as speculated, but hopefully, more details regarding the map will be revealed soon.

It also shows that the player can gain levels since it mentions in the player's screen "level 1" that it has the basic Pokedex and item bag. What is quite intersting is that they also already implemented the Gym system where players are divided into three teams, which are red, blue, and yellow. The player then leaves the selected Pokemon in the gym until someone eliminates the Pokemon. The video also shows the Pokestops mentioned before where players can resupply their Pokeballs and get other items. It shows a player reaching a certain toursit spot or art installation, and from there, he gets a Pokeball and an egg for evolution.

Those who are interested can view the video here before it gets removed.
