'Pokémon GO' tips and tricks: How to get Pikachu as a starter; where to find Bulbasaur, Lapras, and Dratini

(Reuters/Chris Helgen)Where to find rare Pokemon like Pikachu, Lapras, Bulbasaur, and Dratini?

"Pokémon" fans were overjoyed when the augmented reality game "Pokémon GO" was released. But it seems that they have their work cut out for them as it has been pointed out that some Pokémon are harder to catch than others. Here are a few tips and tricks on how to catch Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Lapras, and Dratini.

When first-time players open the game, they are allowed to choose their starter Pokémon. They will be given a few options, but none of them are Pikachu. However, if players simply move away and ignore the first few options, Pikachu will eventually spawn and appear right in front of them. This is the perfect chance for players to catch the rare Pokémon.

If players have already caught their starter Pokémon that isn't Pikachu, there is a way to override this. On the Application Manager, players need only to delete the data and restart the mobile application. This way, players can have a fresh start and catch Pikachu as the starter Pokémon.

However, if players do not want to restart the game and still want to catch Pikachu, it has been noted that the Pokémon can be found in parks or railways. It should also be pointed out that Pikachu is an electric-type Pokémon, which means players can spot the creature in areas with a higher concentration of electricity.

As for other rare Pokémon, Bulbasaur is one that many players long to catch. Bulbasaur usually dwells in areas with a lot of grass and plants. Golf courses, fields, and parks are common options. Lapras and Dratini, on the other hand, are Pokémon that are associated with water. This means that they may be found near bodies of water, like rivers, lakes, and piers.

Players should always be aware of the type of Pokémon they want to catch. More often than not, Pokémon can be found in places heavily associated with their properties. Of course, this does not guarantee that certain, rare ones can always be found in these areas.
