There is no surprise that one of the biggest games to be featured in GamesCom this year was PopCap Game's "Plants Vs. Zombies." This year, the company teamed up with Electronic Arts again to unveil a new version of the game entitled "Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2."

According to pcadvisor.co.uk, the new game would feature six new characters and new gaming modes as well. The first "Garden Warfare" was quite disappointing since the company only focused on the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Though a gamer could play as a single player or even battle it out via split-screen mode, a gamer would need Xbox Live or PS Plus to play offline. The new installment would not have that problem as PopCap games promised that the offline mode would not need an Xbox Live or PS Plus Subscription.

The company also assured that the new contents for the game are free just like its predecessor. This means additional features could be quickly added for more game time.

In addition, IGN reported that during GamesCom, EA also premiered a demo of "Backyard Battleground," a place where gamers could plan their objectives and multiplayer modes together. Up to four players could meet up in this new mode to complete challenges that are given daily by Dr. Zomboss and Crazy Dave.

Vinereport reported that a new trailer has been premiered showing "Moon Base Z." The video, which was two minutes long, showed that gamers could attack zombies from different angles on the surface of the moon during the different waves when the zombies attack.

During the demo, EA also showcased three new plants, Rose, Colonel Corn and Citrod.

By far, the biggest announcement was the collaboration with Bioware to create a "Mass Effect" theme game, which resulted into "Grass Effect Z7-Mech."

"Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2" is expected to be released by spring of 2016. It will be available for the Xbox One, Playstaion 4 and on the PC.
