Things are getting more exciting for fans of "Prison Break" as spoilers for the revival suggest that Michael may be secretly on a mission for the United States government.

As fans know, Michael (Wentworth Miller) has been locked up in a prison in Yemen. Fans initially thought that he was killed off in the finale of season 4. However, "Prison Break" season 5 will show more of what happened to him after the death scene and why he ended up in Yemen.

As fans wait for the release of the show's fifth season, rumors are circulating around the alleged true reason why Michael is in a Yemeni prison. It is speculated that he had been working for the U.S. government in exchange for his freedom. This is a particularly interesting plot for fans since it could open doors for succeeding installments in the franchise.

It is further speculated that Michael had to fake his death so as to keep his enemies from hunting him down. It is believed that the U.S. government had already tapped him to embark on a mission for the country so his crimes can be taken off his record. He then purportedly pretended to die so he can work on the mission in peace. However, these rumors have yet to be confirmed in "Prison Break" season 5.

It is unclear if Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) will discover any of the alleged secrets that Michael has been hiding but what's sure is he will do anything in his power to get Michael out of Yemen.

Meanwhile, a recent photo posted on the show's official Twitter page has had fans more ecstatic over the upcoming installment's plot. The photo sees Michael peeping through a hole in what appears to be his cell in the Yemeni prison.

The image is captioned: "Framed." Did Michael get framed for a crime he did not commit? If so, history may repeat itself the other way around as Lincoln will now be the one to clear Michael's name.
