Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 update: chipset now made official; double the performance of the Snapdragon 810

The powerful and much anticipated next generation of mobile CPU from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820 is now official and the manufacturer boasts a much powerful chipset that they even compared it to the previous model, the Snapdragon 810. This new CPU will sport in many improvements in different aspects like GPU, processing speed, clock speed and many more.
According to the official post made by Qualcomm on their website, the new Snapdragon 820 will come with four cores under its hood—which can also be referred to as quad-core. In addition to that, Qualcomm states that this will have a much faster 64-bit Kryo CPU that can reach for up to 2.2GHz of clock speed.
As for the chip's on-board GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), this new processor will be equipped with an Adreno 530 card and will be capable of producing 4K quality when doing a playback as well as capturing using the camera of the handset it is equipped on. Moreover, for its camera, Qualcomm said that the Snapdragon 820 will support handsets' snapper up to 28MP and will come with a "Qualcomm® Spectra™ Image Sensor Processor (14-bit dual-ISP)" feature.
In terms of connection, the SD820 is going to run on an X12 LTE which, according to the manufacturer, will "3x faster peak upload speeds and 33% faster peak download speeds compared to those of X10 LTE." As for its battery life though, it seems like this new CPU will pack in more power savings feature compared to the previous models and it's all thanks to Qualcomm's Hexagon 680 DSP that not only brings "efficiency" to its battery but it also improves the overall performance of the handset.
Unfortunately though, the company did not drop any hints as to when they will start shipping the new chipset. However, according to GSM Arena, it seems like the manufacturer is aiming to start the roll out sometime 2016.
