With "Rizzoli & Isles" airing its seventh and last season in June, fans are eager to know whether the showrunners will give Jane (Angie Harmon) and Maura (Sasha Alexander) happy endings in their personal and professional lives.

Both women have been depicted in the series as dedicated to their work. As one of the best homicide detectives for the Boston Police Department, Jane's skills has been proven time and again in solving cases and sending criminals behind bars. She has little time to date, probably because she is so busy doing her work. Fans' happy ending for her is seeing her in a relationship and occupying a higher position in the force. Jane, as a boss, is not hard to visualize for many since her character has always been meant to do extraordinary things.

For Maura, being the Chief Medical Examiner of the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts is already a lofty position. It has been her calm and unassuming personality that makes her more human to many, especially when she is out in field, unafraid of elbow grease. Alexander previously told Parade that season 7 would hopefully show Maura and Jane in a more personal manner, more as women rather than as a detective or a medical examiner.

"I hope that in Season 7, we will explore these women in terms of where they've come, what they've gone through, and where they are at in this moment in their lives, and what I mean is their personal life, the choices that they've made, what their jobs have kept them from doing, or what it has given them," the actress shared.

Meanwhile, another thing to look forward to in the upcoming installment is the 100th episode of the series, which will be directed by Harmon. Variety reports that it will likely occur at the middle of season 7, more specifically the eight episode. This will not be the first for Harmon, as in the past, she directed a short film titled "Stockholm." The actress said she enjoyed the experience and was looking forward to do more directing in the future.

"Rizzoli & Isles" season 7 will premiere on Monday, June 6, at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT.
