Rumors of Samsung planning to come out with variants of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have been doing the rounds ever since the Korean company had unveiled the new flagships. Since Samsung had followed up the release of the Galaxy S5 in April 2014 with the bigger Galaxy S5 Plus in October, the Korean company is expected to follow the same strategy this year to build on the success of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge by coming out with the Galaxy S6 Plus and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in October this year. So far, there have been no specifications available about the rumored Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, but a new leak has now confirmed the size of the next Samsung S6 iteration.

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will undoubtedly be a bigger variant of the flagship Galaxy S6 Edge and reportedly feature dual-sided curved edges similar to the current Edge model, along with a large USB Type-C port. The new leak suggests that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will measure 154.45×75.80×6.85mm, which means a display size of approximately 5.5-inches, as against a 5.1-inch display in the current model. The leaked render also confirms a larger USB Type-C port in the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

According to a Forbes report, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be powered by Snapdragon 808 SoC, as against Samsung's own Exynos 7420 CPU in the Galaxy S6 Edge. There have been new reports that Samsung has cancelled the launch of Galaxy Note 5 Edge version at the IFA 2015 in September 4, as the company is said to be preparing to launch the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus instead at the event. Stay tuned for more news and developments ahead of Samsung's upcoming launches.
