Samsung Galaxy S7 vs iPhone 6s: Powerful Galaxy S7 takes on the smaller iPhone 6s

As soon as the Samsung Galaxy S7 was launched recently, it was clear that phone will be pitted against the iPhone 6s, which was released by Apple last year. Here is how these two devices that are destined to be major competitors fare in a face-off.

Design

When it comes to design, the Galaxy S7 has a metal frame while its back panel is made from glass. There is a fingerprint sensor on the device and it is also waterproof with an IP68 rating. As for colors, the smartphone comes in silver, black, white and gold. The iPhone 6s, on the other hand, has a full metal body and so it is much sturdier. Its corners are rounded and there is fingerprint scanner incorporated into its home button. However, it is not waterproof and dust proof, and comes in four colors: gray, silver, gold and rose gold.

Display

Here, the device from Samsung is well and truly ahead as it has a bigger and better quality Super AMOLED display measuring 5.1 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch. On the iPhone 6s is an IPS LCD display measuring 4.7 inches with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch. However, only the device from Apple has 3D Touch technology on board which can be used to sense the amount of pressure being applied to the screen by the user's fingertips.

Hardware

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S7 has either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset or an Exynos 8890 Octa version and the former is coupled with a quad core CPU while the later is coupled with an octa-core version. As for the iPhone 6s, it has an Apple A9 chipset on board, along with a dual-core CPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the iPhone 6s while the version on the Galaxy S7 can be used to add up to 200 GB. As for RAM, the device from Samsung is ahead with 4 GB and its competitor has 2 GB.

Camera

These devices each have a 12-megapixel camera on board but the Galaxy S7 also having OIS.

Price

Coming to price, the Galaxy S7 from Samsung is expected to have a $199 tag with a two year contract while the iPhone 6s also has a similar tag and contract.
