Folks waiting for the arrival of Samsung's Galaxy Note 6 may not have to stay on standby for much longer to get their hands on the company's next phablet.

While an official announcement from Samsung regarding the fate of the new device remains unavailable at this point, rumors suggest that the South Korean company does indeed have plans to launch it later this year.

Specifically, Samsung is expected to follow the same timeline as last year and release the new phablet sometime around August.

To this point, the company has offered no hints that they intend to deviate from that trend, so while confirmation is lacking, most people still expect to see the new device make its debut around that time.

As for what people can expect from the Galaxy Note 6, recent rumors also hint at possible improvements that may be in the works for the upcoming phablet.

For instance, Tech Times suggests that the upcoming device will feature a 5.8 inch display, which would be slightly bigger than the Note 5's 5.7 inch screen.

Display size may not be the only thing changing when it comes to the new phablet.

Rumors also indicate that Samsung's upcoming offering will feature 6 GB of RAM, which would represent a 2 GB bump up from the Note 5. The increased RAM could enable the Note 6 to add a bunch of new features, though exactly what those improvements could be remain unknown.

The Note 6 may also follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy S7 by reintroducing microSD card support for users who need extra storage space, according to Value Walk.

It's currently unclear if the base internal storage offerings of the Note 6 may also be bumped up or if they will be similar to the ones offered for the Galaxy Note 5.

More news about the Galaxy Note 6 and other potential changes and improvements should be made available in the future.
