After not having a love life in "Shameless" season 7, it is said that Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) romantic department may be explored anew in the upcoming season 8 of the Showtime dramedy.

As of this writing, Showtime has yet to announce when the eighth season of "Shameless" will arrive. Despite this, though, there are already numerous rumors attached to the hit and multi-awarded family dramedy, and the latest of which claims that Fiona will have a new love life in the upcoming season.

Avid "Shameless" fans know too well that Fiona had never had a vacancy in her romantic department since the Showtime series began airing. In fact, in an interview with Rossum last year, she even revealed that she had questioned the producers on why her character never ran out of men in her life.

"I keep saying to our producers, 'Why is she never single?' I say every single season, 'Why do we keep putting her with these guys? Can't we have four episodes where she's single?' Women are single! They don't just bridge from one guy to another. Some girls do, and Fiona does, but I would love to see her struggle with nobody," Rossum told TV Line last year.

While it is true that Rossum got her wish for her character in "Shameless" season 7, the latest reports suggest that Fiona's hiatus from men will not take long as, allegedly, the character will be given a new guy in the upcoming season 8 of the series. In fact, Fiona may even find herself tangled in a love triangle as it is also rumored that somebody from her past will return and complicate the status of her love department.

After almost having married Sean (Dermot Mulroney) in "Shameless" season 6 and left hanging, will Fiona finally find a man to stick with her through thick and thin in "Shameless" season 8? If yes, who will it be? Who among her exes, Ryan (Barry Sloane), Gus (Steve Kazee), Steve/Jimmy (Justin Chatwin), and Sean, may possibly return to Fiona's life and throw her off her balance?

Fans can only speculate for now.
