With Sony bringing out the Xperia X Performance smartphone during MWC 2016, there have been rumors that it could be the new flagship device from the company even though it has not been officially confirmed. Here is how this new device compares to the iPhone 6s Plus in a showdown.

Design

When it comes to size and design, the iPhone 6s Plus is hard to beat as it has a full metal body complete with rounded edges. Its fingerprint scanner is incorporated into the home button. And in terms of colors, the device comes in silver, gold, gray and rose gold.

As for the X Performance, it has metal frame and its back has a brushed metal cover but it is a smaller device. However, it has a big advantage in its waterproofing and comes with IP68 certification, which means it can remain submerged in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. In terms of colors, the device comes in silver, black, rose gold and gold.

Display

The 5-inch display of the X Performance is an IPS LCD version and it comes with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441 pixels per inch. On the device from Apple is 3D Touch, which can sense the amount of pressure being applied by the user's fingertips. The display itself is an LED- IPS LCD version measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch.

Hardware

The iPhone 6s Plus has an Apple A9 chipset along with a dual-core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. Onboard the X Performance is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU.

Memory

Utilizing the memory slot on the X Performance, 200 GB can be added on as external storage, while the iPhone 6s Plus has no slot. In terms of RAM, the X Performance has 3 GB and its competitor has 2 GB.

Camera

There is a 23-megapixel camera on the device from Sony while its competitor has a 12-megapixel version.

Price

The price of the Xperia X Performance has not been unveiled while the 16 GB iPhone 6s Plus costs $299 with a two-year contract.
