This year's flagship device from Sony, branded the Xperia Z3 , is a small upgrade compared to its predecessor, but for those who want a flagship phone with a more vivid display, the LG G3 is a good option.

Design

Though the Xperia Z3 looks very much like the Xperia Z3, it now has a metal frame with more gloss and a back panel made of glass. The corners come with a layer of protection, which slightly reduces the sleekness and classiness of the device. The G3, on the other hand, appears to have a metal body, though it is only made of plastic with a metallic coating. One big advantage of the Xperia Z3 over the G3, is that it comes with an IP68 certification. Not only can it resist dust, it can also be submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

Display

The Xperia Z3 is slightly smaller than the G3. It comes with an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch while the G3 has an IPS plus LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches, with a much better resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch.

Specs

The G3's specs are unfortunately inferior to the Xperia Z3 . G3 comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, a Krait 400 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU. Because the Xperia Z3 was just recently released, its specs are updated. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU.

Memory

Both devices have memory slots, which can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. As for RAM, the 16 GB model of G3 has 2 GB while the 32 GB model has 3 GB. The Xperia Z3 comes with 3GB of RAM.

Price

The Sony Xperia Z3 comes with a full retail price tag of $780, while the G3 costs $99 with a two-year contract.
