The first official trailer for "Spider-Man: Homecoming" has been released. Dressed as the titular superhero, Tom Holland came onto "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to debut the trailer on television, along with an entire army of similarly dressed Spideys.

The trailer introduces Holland's Peter Parker, juggling life as a high school student and a secret superhero. His best friend, Jacob Batalon's Ned Leeds, is always by his side at school, even sitting together during lunch as they gawk at a beautiful girl. Ned, of course, finds out that Peter and Spider-Man are one and the same person. Zendaya also makes an appearance, delivering one funny line in the trailer.

There were previous speculations that Zendaya would be playing Mary Jane, but the actress herself has said that the character she plays is "not romantic," but rather "dry, awkward, and intellectual." 

Robert Downey Jr. is also seen in the clip, reprising his role as Tony Stark. Tony gives Peter advice on how he can become a full-fledged member of the Avengers, which visibly confuses the young kid. 

In one scene, Tony tells Peter to "forget the flying monster guy" because "there are people who handle this sort of thing." Peter does not take his words too kindly, though, as the next scene sees him ranting to his best friend that he's tired of being treated like a kid. It is clear that Peter will try to take on the villainous Vulture, played by Michael Keaton, all by himself, but it remains to be seen how it will all play out.

The trailer is expected to show in theaters alongside the release of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," which has already garnered great reviews from those who were lucky enough to watch its Saturday world premiere.

Meanwhile, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" has not even made it to theaters yet, but its sequel has already been tagged with a release date. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2" will be arriving in cinemas on July 5, 2019.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will premiere on July 7, 2017.
