'Star Wars: Episode 8' rumors: Kylo Ren to try getting Rey's blue lightsaber

(Facebook/Star Wars Movies)Rumors claim that Kylo Ren will try anew to get Rey's blue lightsaber.

Although "Star Wars: Episode 8" is not slated to arrive earlier than December next year, there is no denying that there are already numerous rumors attached to it. However, the latest in the rumor mill is that Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) will be returning for the blue lightsaber once more in "Star Wars: Episode 8"

To recall, Kylo Ren told Rey (Daisy Ridley) in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" that the blue lightsaber in her possession is actually his. As he did not succeed in getting what he claims as his, it is now said that Kylo Ren will once again attempt to get the blue lightsaber from Rey in "Star Wars: Episode 8"

To the uninitiated, the blue lightsaber originally belonged to Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), who eventually became Darth Vader in the previous "Star Wars" movies. However, Darth Vader lost the said weapon during his battle with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) until Rey recovered it inside Maz Kanata's (Lupita Nyong'o) castle. According to unconfirmed reports, Rey will still be using the same lightsaber in "Star Wars: Episode 8," while she trains with Luke Skywalker.

Meanwhile, apart from attempting to get the blue lightsaber from Rey, it is also alleged that Kylo Ren will be confronted by General Leia (Carrie Fisher) over his killing of his own father, Han Solo (Harrison Ford), in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode 8." According to earlier reports, Kylo Ren will have his mother kidnapped by The First Order, and the son will question his mother on Finn's whereabouts.

However, instead of answering her son's questions, General Leia will turn the table and ask Kylo Ren instead why he killed his own father. Allegedly, the mere mention of Han Solo's name will be enough to irritate Kylo Ren.

Fisher has also revealed at this year's "Star Wars Celebration Europe" that "Star Wars: Episode 8" will feature a funeral scene for Han Solo as a tribute to the well-loved rogue character.

Interesting as the plot for "Star Wars: Episode 8" may be, fans are advised to take everything with a grain of salt for now as everything is just a rumor at this point in time and can only be confirmed once the movie has already arrived.

"Star Wars: Episode 8" is slated to hit theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
