The much talked about "StarCraft: Remastered" will finally hit PC. Blizzard confirmed last week that the title will arrive this summer, and they have provided some details about it.

The game comes with 4K support, and it is preceded by an update of the classic "StarCraft: Brood War." The new patch 1.18a will apparently revamp the game's mechanics, but players can still connect with each other by means of the 1.16 patch.

"In preparation for 'StarCraft: Remastered,' SC:BW will be receiving its first official patch since January 21, 2009—almost 8 years ago. This patch mostly contains bug fixes and added functionality, with only 2 changes to unit bugs," Blizzard wrote on the community site, TeamLiquid. These changes should have little to no effect on gameplays since SC:R will allegedly be compatible with BW 1.16.

The patch also comes with improvements like better compatibility with other PCs that run on newer Windows versions. There are also two major updates included in the game. The first one allows the players to connect to each other. The second one allows them to play with those who have the remastered version.

Once the patch becomes available, the "StarCraft Anthology" will be offered as a free download, both for single and multiplayer gameplay.

Those who opt to get "StarCraft: Remastered" on PC and Mac should expect the same logic as the first title. The only thing different is that the 2D graphics are tweaked so that it could accommodate 4K resolution and widescreen monitors.

There are teaser videos released by the studio to showcase the game's actual look, which includes familiar buildings from the original title, ships, and several monsters, among others.

Also, as seen from the teasers, players will be able to zoom-in toward the 2D monsters or zoom-out to see the battlefield as a whole. There is no news whether this feature can be used in online gameplay. Blizzard is expected to reveal more of the game several days before its launch.

"StarCraft: Remastered" is set to roll out on March 30.
