"Steven Universe" is on another hiatus and, as is often the case with this show, the long break has had fans anticipating and worrying about its return.

The show's "Summer of Steven" ended its magnificent run on Sept. 15 and, despite fans knowing that the series was going on another hiatus, there was no denying it ended on a high note. The summer's final episode, "Onion Gang," showed Steven hanging out with his little friend, Onion. Steven and the viewers were soon introduced to Onion's other friends — Garbanzo, Pinto, Squash, and Soup. The half-gem joined them for a day of shenanigans and, in so doing, both Steven and Onion realized that they have grown up a bit and that they are really friends.

An ending as positive and touching as that one would undoubtedly have fans clamoring for more, which is what has been happening. Luckily, a sneak peek for episode 8 of "Steven Universe" has been released recently, giving fans hope that the hiatus might soon be coming to an end.

The clip for the upcoming episode, "Gem Harvest," shows Peridot excitedly dragging Steven through a corn field. The Gem wants to show Steven her and Lapis Lazuli's creation, a pumpkin-creature. But much to Peridot and Lapis Lazuli's dismay, their dog-like pumpkin appears more taken with Steven. Seeing that they're confused and disappointed by the pumpkin's actions, Steven tries to show them how he created a jack-o-lantern. But when the little pumpkin creature sees Steven carving a face on the pumpkin and scooping out its insides, it immediately seeks comfort in Lapis Lazuli's arms.

There have been conflicting reports on when episode 8 will be shown. Some fans are saying it's a Halloween episode, while others believe it's a Thanksgiving one. Regardless of when it will be shown, it will undoubtedly be imbued with Rebecca Sugar's unique storytelling style.

The "Steven Universe" creator had allegedly teased that fans might see a much older Steven soon. While Steven growing up is inevitable, this has led to speculations that the series might be ending soon, given that it's progressing beyond Cartoon Network's demographic. There's also the fact that some of the show's story arcs are deemed too mature for the network's young audience.

But it's also these story arcs that have garnered such a diverse fanbase for "Steven Universe." And according to Sugar, it's these stories of love, relationships, and acceptance and the inclusive world that Steven inhabits that have made the show very special for a lot of people.

"Steven Universe" season 4 is set to resume in November.
