'Street Fighter 5' DLC news: Ibuki to join roster in June

(Capcom)Ibuki will be the next character added to "Street Fighter V."

Capcom has confirmed that Ibuki will be the latest DLC character joining "Street Fighter V." The female ninja, already famous for her technical skills, comes armed with new ninjutsu tricks that will surely surprise her opponents.

In the "Street Fighter" universe, Ibuki grew up in a small village up in the mountains of Japan. Her constant companions are pet tanuki Don and her best friend Sarai Kurosawa. Ibuki has been trained in the deadly art of ninjutsu. She is often sent on difficult missions and withstands rigorous trainings. Despite her abilities, all she wants to be is a normal school girl.

Ibuki's story was explored as she made appearances in "Street Fighter III: New Generation," "Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike," and "Super Street Fighter IV." Ibuki also made crossover appearances in "Pocket Fighter" and "Street Fighter x Tekken."

In "Street Fighter V," Ibuki will be a powerful contender, given her mobility and multiple target combos. She also gains the ability to glide through the air, and at the same time, toss out ninja bombs. Opponents will find her moves difficult to predict.

Players will also have to use Ibuki's kunai knives more strategically. During fights, she will only have five knives stocked at a time and it will take a while to restock. Regardless, the kunais still hold massive power. Sending all five kunais flying will severely damage the opponent.

Her V-Skill is the Tenrai, where Ibuki builds up energy and blasts it from her palm. The blast's range will depend on how long the energy was charged. Meanwhile, her V-Trigger is the Isshaku Horokudama. When Ibuki throws a bomb at the opponent, its explosion can be altered depending on the direction it was thrown. It can go off quickly, after a short or a long delay. Given Ibuki's craftiness, players might also find new ways to trigger the explosion.

Capcom did not specify a release date for the "Street Fighter" Ibuki DLC update, but it is expected to arrive sometime this June. The June update will also include a new alternative stage named Estate at Noon. It will be a daytime version of the Kanzuki Estate stage.

"Street Fighter V" is available for the PlayStation 4, the Microsoft Windows PC, and the Linux PC.
