'Suicide Squad' movie spoilers, plot rumors: Enchantress is the villain

(Facebook/Suicide Squad)Is Cara Delevingne's Enchantress the villain in the "Suicide Squad" movie?

"Suicide Squad" is just less than a month away from its release date, and this early, fans of the upcoming DC and Warner Bros. movie continue to float various speculations on how it may possibly pan out. The latest in the rumor mill is that apart from the possibility that she will die, Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) may actually be the baddie, ironically, in the movie about a group of DC villains.

Enchantress, originally, is not a villain as her human host was an innocent woman named June Moone. However, after she was bestowed with supernatural powers, she has constantly found herself struggling with her good and bad side. According to reports, in the upcoming "Suicide Squad" movie, she will finally cut her ties with the good and fully embrace the dark side, making her the villain to the group of villains, otherwise known as the Suicide Squad.

Comic Book notes that in the "Legends" storyline in the comics, Enchantress joins the Suicide Squad for personal reasons. She eventually betrays the team and is thrown into prison. Upon the opportunity to leave the prison, she chooses to remain. She also uses her magic to avert the death of Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney in the movie) after Deadshot (Will Smith in "Suicide Squad" movie) was commanded by Amanda Waller (portrayed by Viola Davis in the movie incarnation) to kill him.

With her history, it is not really surprising why Enchantress is being suspected as the villain in the upcoming big screen adaptation of "Suicide Squad." Apart from her comic book history, another reason why the character is said to be the likely villain in the movie is that she is not seen hanging around with the other members of the Squad in the movie trailers. Hence, it is possible that the Suicide Squad may be running after her all along in the movie and will eventually kill her.

Is Enchantress really the big bad in "Suicide Squad?" Find out when the movie hits theaters on Aug. 5.
