'Super Smash Bros. 4' updates: Patch update 1.1.5 released; 'Super Smash Bros. 5' for Nintendo NX in development?

(Facebook/SmashBrosEN)Will "Super Smash Bros. 5" launch with the new Nintendo NX console?

Nintendo recently released an update for "Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U." While the Update 1.1.5 does not come with new game content, it introduces minor updates to the character's skills, bug fixes, and game balances.

Playable characters like Bowser, Charizard, Duck Hunt, Link, Mewtwo, and Pac-Man found their skills increased or upgraded. Meanwhile, characters like Cloud, Greninja, Kirby, Meta Knight, and Zelda had decreases in the effects of their abilities. The last two DLC characters to be added, Bayonetta and Corrin, also had a few changes.

Unfortunately, Nintendo isn't planning any more DLC releases for "Super Smash Bros. 4." This was confirmed by video game director Masahiro Sakurai last February.

"At long last, development on 'Smash for 3DS/Wii U' has ended!! To all of the staff who were involved in this project, thank you for all your hard work. To all who supported and followed the game and its development, thank you so very much. Personally, I'm happy I can finally take an extended vacation," Sakurai told Japanese publication "Famitsu."

"Super Smash Bros." is considered as one of the most popular Nintendo game titles. With development for the fourth installment completed, reports now suggest that Nintendo is planning to launch a new "Super Smash Bros." title for the upcoming Nintendo NX console.

Rumors first popped up last January when Japan-based gaming analyst Dr. Serkan Toto mentioned it on Twitter. According to the analyst, "Super Smash Bros." is one of the intended games to be made available at launch. If reports are proven to be true, a possible "Super Smash Bros. 5" may be arriving on March 2017, alongside the Nintendo NX.

However, since Nintendo has yet to make an official announcement, these reports remain speculative. Be sure to check back for all the latest news and developments on "Super Smash Bros."
