'Supernatural' season 11 release date, spoilers: Crowley reaches out to Sam and Dean; show to return on March 23
After a short and relatively fun foray that saw Sam and Dean reliving one of the best moments of their childhood, the brothers get back down to serious business as they continue the hunt for the Darkness in episode 16 of "Supernatural" season 11.

The previous episode saw the Winchester brothers kicking back and enjoying themselves with a bout of wrestling. However, what started out as a relaxing break soon turned to a case as it was revealed one of Dean's (Jensen Ackles) favourite wrestlers had sold his soul to a demon. The episode also saw Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) finally escaping Lucifer's (Mark Pellegrino) clutches.
"Supernatural" will be off the air for several weeks and will return in late March. Luckily, The CW released a teaser clip to keep fans happy until the show returns.
The trailer for episode 16, "Safe House," shows Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean in the woods, looking at a cabin. It might be where Amara (Emily Swallow) is holed up in as Dean is heard saying "the Darkness is out there." The brothers are then seen fighting off some undead looking creatures inside the cabin. There's also a shot that shows them looking at the sky, which suddenly turns orange as it was on fire.
Amara's presence is certainly felt in this trailer as she's seen conjuring up ghosts. No one appears to be safe as a little girl hiding under the bed is taken, pulled out of her hiding spot by ghostly hands. The clip ends with a shot of the brothers, as it's hinted that a glance from Amara can cause Dean to implode. The last scene is probably a dream sequence but it does underline how powerful the Darkness is and that the brothers are at a disadvantage.
Interestingly, the trailer also shows Crowley apparently meeting with the brothers. With Hell being controlled by Lucifer and his allies gone, the demon knows his best chance of surviving is to help Sam and Dean. Unfortunately, he's also seen being hit on the head with a bottle by Lucifer. That short glimpse has prompted the Melty site to ask the question that a lot of fans are probably wondering about as well – is Lucifer using his old body and has let Castiel (Misha Collins) go?
Another thing that fans can look forward to when "Supernatural" season 11 goes back on air is the return of old hunters Bobby and Rufus. TV Line reported that Bobby, who's played by actor Jim Beaver, will be seen in flashbacks.
"Supernatural" season 11 will return with episode 16 on March 23.
