"Supernatural's" brief hiatus is coming to an end and fans will be delighted to learn that the daring Winchester brothers will return to doing what they do best - tracking down dangerous creatures of the night. In the upcoming episode, they will have to take on an insidious monster that is accidentally released from its long hibernation.

In "Safe House," the synopsis reveals that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will be investigating the brutal attack on a mother and her child. Both are reportedly in a coma after a supernatural beast has been released in an old house. After much research, the siblings will find out that Bobby (guest star Jim Beaver) and Rufus (guest star Steven Williams) tracked down the creature not so long ago. Since Rufus is already dead, they will have to find their old friend Bobby to get much-needed information on how to approach the problem.

Bobby and Rufus encountered the same creature during season 5. It was also accidentally released that time and attacked several individuals. Sam and Dean will have to know exactly how it can be defeated before anyone dies this time around. The episode is expected to take a break from the saga concerning Amara (Emily Swallow) and her dispute with her brother, God.

Still, the promo for the upcoming episode shows that the final reckoning is near. In the clip, Amara is seen unleashing terrible disasters that can wipe out the entire human race.

Meanwhile, Padalecki shared during the NashCon panel in February that his character would have a tough time in the latter part of season 11. He said that Sam's faith would be tested as he struggles to come to terms with what is real and what is not.

"I'll say this — I think Sam is in a constant struggle with what he dreams about and what he wants. ... Some people call it faith, some people hope, but we see Sam struggle with faith and hope and kind of marry that with reality. I think you're going to like the rest of Season 11," he added.

Supernatural season 11 episode 16 will air on March 23 at 9 pm EST on The CW.
