Disney's version of the Classic fairy tale "Rapunzel" is back. And it seems like she will be returning with her long golden locks.

Rapunzel will return to Disney channel through a new TV series called "Tangled: The Series." But before the network airs her latest adventures, she will be reintroduced in a movie called "Tangled: Before Ever After." The movie will be the first animated Disney Channel Original Movie to launch an upcoming series on the network.

In "Tangled: Before Ever After," viewers will see what happened to Rapunzel shortly after she cut her hair, and before her "happily ever after" with Eugene a.k.a. Flynn Rider begins. The title of the movie references the short film "Tangled Ever After," which aired in 2012. Hence, the setting for the upcoming DCOM takes place before the events of the short film.

As revealed in the trailer for the series, Rapunzel is able to maintain her short brown hair, but not for long. An encounter she has on one unforgettable night turns her hair back to into the long golden locks that she is best known for.

"Tangled: Before Ever After" was developed by animator Chris Sonnenburg, who is also responsible for a number of popular TV shows, including "Gravity Falls" and "Futurama," and character designer Shane Prigmore, who is also known for his work on "Boxtrolls" and "Mr. Peabody & Sherman."

The original lead stars of the series will be reprising their roles for the TV show. As revealed in the trailer, Mandy Moore has once again lent her voice to make princess Rapunzel come to life. Her co-star Zachary Levi has also lent his talent to revive the charming Eugene. The show will also introduce new characters, one of which will be portrayed by Broadway star Eden Espinosa. She will play a character named Cassandra, a handmaiden who Rapunzel trusts.

"Tangled: Before Ever After" airs in March on the Disney Channel, while "Tangled: The Series" is expected to premiere shortly after the movie.
