Previewed during the recent San Diego 2014 Comic-Con, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada announced the first details of Tekken 7.

According to Harada, they are still in the early stage of gameplay development for Tekken 7, polishing the systems of the game that is expected to hit market with a late 2015 release date.

He also confirmed that Tekken 7 will feature one-on-one battles, which deviate form the concept of the previous Tekken Tag series.

Moreover, Harada named guest artists who will be responsible in character designs and confirmed the return of Lars from Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion.

These include Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta), Yusuke Kozaki (Fire Emblem Awakening, No More Heroes), Ninnin (Duel Masters, Cardfight!! Vanguard) and Kenichiro Yoshimura (Max Anarchy/Anarchy Reigns)

Harada just recently sought the fans' help in designing a new Arab character using social media:

"I believe all of you know by now that we are developing TEKKEN 7 at the moment.
Of course, in TEKKEN 7, there will be "some" new characters that will be featured in the game. The ideas of these new characters are changing daily, and nothing is totally decided yet."

He then particularly asked for help from the Tekken communities in the Middle East.

"To be honest, we did have an idea of an Arab fighter since 2008, but since most of the development team members are Japanese and do not know much about the Middle Eastern culture or clothes, we were not able to fully design it back then," Harada added.

He said, "But in recent years I (Harada) have been visiting places such as Dubai and Saudi Arabia, and many of the development staff members have been learning about Middle Eastern culture and designs."

Tekken 7 will also tap Unreal Engine 4 specifically for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

"With Unreal Engine 4, we can rapidly achieve visual quality expected on next-gen platforms and go beyond it. Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, but it also allows us to bring Tekken 7 to any platform we desire," said Harada.

The producer also confirmed that Akitaka Tohyama has just completed the music for Tekken 7.
