Helen (Maura Tierney) will have a new love interest in the upcoming season of "The Affair," but she is far from forgetting her feelings for her ex-husband, Noah (Dominic West).

Tierney recently talked about what to expect for her character in the new installment. She said in an interview (as per Yahoo) that season 3 will pick up three years after Noah's trial on the death of Scotty (Colin Donnell). By that time, all of the main protagonists have moved on from that fateful night. Helen will be dating a new man, while Noah also has a love interest.

Although it looks like the messy love triangle with Alison (Ruth Wilson) is finished, Tierney said Helen has not fully moved on.

The actress tells Yahoo: "It is three years later. She has a boyfriend. She's with Vic, Dr. Ullah [Omar Metwally]. They have an interesting relationship that is clear, but unclear at the beginning of the season. Everyone has moved on in a way. All of the characters are in a different place. There's a new love interest for Noah. Again, the characters are continuing to diverge, their stories are getting more separate." 

According to Tierney, her character will continue to deal with her guilt over what happened to Noah. She was actually the one driving the car when they accidentally hit Scotty. Noah told Helen to remain silent about it and to let him take the blame.

Tierney said Helen's love for her ex-husband would turn into an obsession and this would dictate how she would handle her relationships in season 3. Her preoccupation with Noah will likely affect her connection to her new boyfriend. Will Helen soon be alone once again?

Meanwhile, executive producer Anya Epstein teased in April that they were planning to add a new perspective in the new installment. Aside from Alison, Noah, Helen and Cole's (Joshua Jackson) POVs, viewers will get to see another side of the story from someone else's eyes. Speculations point to Luisa (Catalina Sandino Moreno), Cole's new wife, being chosen.

"The Affair" season 3 premieres Sunday, Nov. 20 at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
