"The Blacklist" ended season 3 with a twist so shocking that it will undoubtedly change the course of the show. But what will the revelation about Liz and Alexander Kirk mean for Red?

Ever since Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) died in "Mr. Solomon: Conclusion," the show had been all about bringing the man allegedly responsible for her death, Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen), to justice. But the season finale revealed that not only was Liz alive but she planned the deception with Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) and Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) so that they can get away from Red (James Spader). The season's second biggest shocker came in the last scene, when a tied-up Liz is confronted by Kirk. Red's longtime nemesis surprisingly calls her Masha and reveals that he's her father.

The finale might have cleared up some mysteries, but it also led to more questions that the series should answer early on in season 4.

One of the most important questions that is on fans' minds right now is the whereabouts of Tom and Agnes. The two are undoubtedly still alive, as Eggold is set to star in the spin-off "The Blacklist: Redemption," but how this little family will come together is one of season 4's mysteries. According to Eggold, the show will "deal with that in the beginning of season 4 and then make our way to a brand-new series."

As for Liz, the revelation that Kirk is her father has certainly thrown her for a loop, especially since she believed that she had shot her father. "The Blacklist" showrunners Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath recently talked to EW about the finale and admitted that this is "a big turn in the life of our series."

While Bokenkamp says that Liz should take Kirk's word that he is her father, Eisendrath cautioned that they still don't know what his motivations for taking her are.

"What I do promise is that Alexander Kirk and his relationship to Liz will ultimately give us a far deeper understanding of Red's relationship to Liz in season 4," Bokenkamp said.

One thing that's certain is that Liz and Mr. Kaplan's betrayal had definitely hurt Red and that he's now in "a very tricky and precious place" emotionally. It's not just Red, though, as some members of Liz's Post Office team will also look at her deception as a tremendous betrayal. But whether or not they will be able to muster their anger and maintain their relationship with Liz is something that the next season will deal with.

"The Blacklist" season 4 will return to NBC in the fall.
