'The Blacklist' season 4 spoilers, air date: Should Liz trust Kirk and Kaplan?

"The Blacklist" pulled off a major shocker during the season 3 finale when Liz (Megan Boone) was revealed to be alive and well. The agent is being held captive by Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen), who claimed to be her father.
It was a nightmare for the fans of the NBC series when Liz was declared dead due to complications in her pregnancy. Red (James Spader) was devastated and vowed to avenge what happened to her. When he learned that Kirk was the one who ultimately caused her death, he set out to kill him. What he did not expect was that Liz's death was faked by Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) on Kirk's directions.
The upcoming season will see Red dealing with the treachery. Executive producer John Eisendrath and Jon Bokenkamp told Entertainment Weekly that in season 4, Red is going to be in "a very tricky and precious place." He was betrayed by the person he trusted most in the world and it is bound to have repercussions on him. Mr. Kaplan pulled off a major heist without him knowing and he was hurt that Liz played along with it.
Kirk told Liz that he was Constantine Rostova, whom she previously thought was dead. Liz remembered shooting him in defense of her mother, who was getting severely beaten by the man. Kirk said he had been monitoring Liz when it was exposed that she was Marsha Rostova while being on the run from the FBI. He claimed he wanted to protect her and the baby. But can Liz trust him?
Bokenkamp shared that at the moment, Liz has no reason not to.
"I don't know why we wouldn't believe him. Red's said before that he's not Liz's father. This man shows up in her life and says he's her father. Liz should take him at his word. She thought she shot her father. It raises a number of questions, which is going to be the joy of season 4," the EP said.
"The Blacklist" season 4 will return in the fall on NBC.
