'The LEGO Batman Movie' trailer: Batman beatboxes and fights crime

"The LEGO Movie" did surprisingly well when it was released in 2014, having earned more than $469 million worldwide. With its impressive numbers and good reception, everyone knew a sequel was not far off. True enough, "The LEGO Movie Sequel" will prance into theaters in 2018. But before that, "The LEGO Movie's" success managed to spawn a spinoff movie in "The LEGO Batman Movie."
Warner Bros. recently released the trailer for "The LEGO Batman Movie," which stirred excitement worldwide. Will Arnett, who voiced Batman in "The LEGO Movie," returns as the caped crusader in "The LEGO Batman Movie."
The video starts off with Batman beatboxing before he stops to introduce the trailer. And, of course, in true LEGO Batman fashion, he drops the mic before leaving. The trailer then shows Batman returning to his Batcave, presumably after a long day's work. His voice echoes through the cave, showing it to be quite large. His computer than welcomes him home and plays a track dubbed the "Batcave music." Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow," which is an apt choice, starts to play and the video proceeds to show scenes of Batman fighting crime and flying around.
Viewers also learn of his favorite food as his computer lets him know that Alfred has prepared lobster thermidor for him as he changes into his robe. And in a funny scene, Batman microwaves the lobster thermidor while he's alone in a big kitchen.
The video also showed Batman being accompanied by a LEGO version of the Justice League—including Superman and Wonder Woman, among others.
With "Batman v. Superman" garnering not very favorable reviews, "The LEGO Batman Movie" offers somewhat of a palate cleanser. Joining Arnett in the upcoming comedy film are Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson and Zach Galifianakis, as Robin, Batgirl and the Joker, respectively.
"The LEGO Batman Movie" is scheduled to premiere on the silver screen in 2017.
