The fourth season of The CW's hit supernatural drama TV series "The Originals" will reportedly premiere following the finale of its parent show, "The Vampire Diaries" which is slated to bow down with its eighth and final season. However, "TVD" fans shouldn't be wary that they will miss their favorite Mystic Falls characters as some of them are reportedly heading toward "The Originals;" one them might even be Nina Dobrev herself.

According to this report, "The Originals" season 4 was initially scheduled to open in January 2017. However, the network decided to push back the airing to March 2017. The new date will consequently see "The Originals" replacing the vacated timeslot.

And for the most exciting part of the news: it is said that "TVD's" Matt Davis will be making his way into the spinoff series which commenced airing in October of 2013. Speculations are saying that Alaric, Davis' alter-ego, will appear in one of the episodes of "The Originals" season 4 where he'd be looking for Elijah (Daniel Gillies) during a transaction concerning a "priceless artifact."

As if that's not exciting enough, yet another publication claims that Dobrev might also find her way heading to New Orleans. However, as clarified in the report, she could be playing another role and not her original character, Elena Gilbert.

Even Candice King's Caroline is also heard to be coming over to "The Originals." In "TVD," Caroline is currently at odds with Paul Wesley's Stefan Salvatore and there's no telling if the two lovers will make it through the end of the season together.

Should it be that the worse happens, Caroline might also be jumping over the other show to offer assistance to its main players like Klaus (Joseph Morgan) who was last found to be in dire need of help.

"The Originals" season 4 is scheduled to premiere on The CW on March 17, 2017.
