There is no more stopping "The Originals" season 4 from arriving next month, but it is suspected that the latest offering of the vampire series may be its last as it will no longer be renewed for a season 5.

Months prior to the confirmation of "The Originals" season 4's release date, it was already speculated that "The Vampire Diaries'" spin-off series would be canceled after its upcoming season is released. However, speculations on its imminent cancellation grew even louder when The CW gave seven of its shows an early renewal for another season last month, and "The Originals" is not part of those that have been renewed.

"Julie (Plec) and I spoke ahead of time about this.'The Originals' has not yet premiered for the season. It'll probably be a discussion in May. I'm a big Julie Plec fan. I'm hoping 'The Originals' will continue. A lot of it will depend on performance," The CW President Mark Pedowitz explained why the vampire series has not been renewed yet as he spoke at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour last month.

However, the non-inclusion of "The Originals" on the list of the shows that got an early renewal for another season is not the only reason why the series is suspected for cancellation after its season 4. Adding fuel to the fire was the exit of "The Originals" showrunner Michael Narducci from the show last month, which, according to reports, is because he cannot pass on the opportunity being offered to him by ABC.

Meanwhile, "The Originals" season 4 is slated for a March 17 premiere at 9 p.m. EST. When the series returns, it will feature a five-year time jump, which means that the then baby Hope will now have grown into a little girl and will be breathed to life by child actress Summer Fontana.

It is said that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) daughter will change the dynamics of the relationships among the characters of the series, especially those of her parents and uncle Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Even if her mother is to have a relationship with her uncle, she and her father will still maintain a good relationship in order to protect Hope, much more that it has been reported that "The Originals" season 4's big bad, whoever it may be, will be after her.
