Caroline (Candice King) will get her revenge on Sybil (guest star Nathalie Kelley) no matter what happens in the upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries."

In the episode titled "We Have History Together," the promo reveals that the blonde vampire is not happy that her man is off apprenticing for the devil for a year.

Last episode, Stefan (Paul Wesley) said his goodbyes to Caroline. He had to fulfill his promise to serve Cade (guest star Wole Parks) on behalf of her daughters. He could not back out, as the witch twins would be Cade's target. After spending Christmas Eve with Caroline, Stefan drove off with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to start his job as the devil's ripper.

Stefan thinks a year is enough to finish the deal with Cade. The devil has made it clear what kind of souls he wanted. The Salvatore brothers must bring in those who are destined to be good, only to be sidetracked by an evil force at the last minute. Cade used Elena's (Nina Dobrev) fate as an example. According to him, she was doomed the moment she let Stefan be a part of her life.

In the teaser, Stefan seems determined to do a good job with his task. He tells his brother he might as well do a thorough job at being evil since he has nothing else to do.

Meanwhile, Caroline is left alone in Mystic Falls. She still cannot accept what happened. It particularly irks her that she gets to see Sybil's face almost everyday. The siren and her sister are the reasons why Stefan is under Cade's control. In the clip, Sybil takes great pleasure in angering Caroline. The blonde finally snaps and in one of the scenes, she can be seen choking the life out of Sybil. How will Sybil get even?

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 8 will air Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
