'The Vampire Diaries' season 8 spoilers: Alaric to romance the twin's new nanny in premiere?

(Facebook/thevampirediaries)Alaric may become attracted to his kids' nanny in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.

Alaric's (Matt Davis) new love interest may turn up to be someone a bit closer to home in the upcoming final season of "The Vampire Diaries."

Earlier on, executive producer Julie Plec teased that they were thinking of giving Alaric a happy ending. Now that he is once again alone, with Caroline (Candice King) back in Stefan's (Paul Wesley) arms, Alaric may meet a woman who can give him all the happiness he deserves.

Fans witnessed Alaric's unfortunate fate when it came to the women he loved. Almost all of them ended up dying. In Caroline's case, she decided she could not forget Stefan and left Alaric.

"Alaric lost so much and has never been able to find love in a way that could be forever for him. So we're going to the end of the season, so do we finally give that to him, or do we keep him for all eternity as the guy who is unlucky in love?" the EP said (as per IB Times).

Meanwhile, speculations claim that Alaric's new woman will be the twins' new nanny Seline (Kristen Gutoskie). As per Deadline, she will be a fierce protector of the witch twins and the Saltzman family. It is possible that love will blossom between her and Alaric as they spend more time under one roof. It will be a bonus for Alaric if his kids will like Seline. Will she be the one to complete his family?

Meanwhile, Caroline will still be around to help out with the girls. Although she and their father have officially called it quits, Caroline is determined to raise the twins properly. Of course, she will often be at Mystic Falls, helping out Stefan with his mission to bring back Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Although Caroline may be against Alaric and Seline at first, once she sees that they are meant for each other, things will work out in the end.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 premieres Friday, Oct. 21, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
