The upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries" is about to get very personal with Alaric and Caroline as their lovely twins are in danger.

A promo for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 6 titled "Detoured on Some Random Backwoods Path to Hell" hints of the potential danger that Alaric (Matthew Davis) and Caroline's (Candice King) children could face in the hands of Sybil (Nathalie Kelley).

It is unclear what Sybil really wants with the kids but it appears that she knows of the secret abilities that the twins have. As expected, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will be involved with kidnapping the children and Caroline is not going to take it lightly.

A synopsis provided by Comic Book Movie further hints on the tension between Alaric and Caroline. It's already understood that the two are in a co-parenting relationship and nothing more but it seems they will soon realize the consequences of their unusual set-up.

While Alaric is most specifically affected by the disappearance of his twin daughters, Caroline also shows just how much she loves the children she took under her wing. In the promo for the upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, Caroline warns Stefan (Paul Wesley), "If Damon gets between me and my girls, I'm going to kill him."

Stefan knows that he has to make a move to save the kids and to keep Caroline's trust. However, it seems that there is a huge price to be paid. In the teaser, Damon puts his own brother in grave danger.

Obviously, Stefan is at a loss if something bad happens to Caroline's twins. He has just started to live a happy life with his great love but his brother has come in between him and Caroline. Will the June wedding ever happen? For now, it's clear that everyone is going to focus on getting the kids back to safety.
