'The Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers: Alexandria under threat from the Wolves; Jon Hamm would love to play bad boy Neegan

(AMC)

"The Walking Dead" concluded with an explosive season five finale that had everyone wondering what was next for Alexandria, Rick's team and the malicious group called the Wolves.

Spoilers for season six are largely based on comics since the two are intrinsically tied together. Although showrunner Scott Gimple deviates from the comics intermittently (for example, Andrea is still alive at this stage of the story), the main plot remains more or less the same. However, Gimple also teased fans in the show "The Talking Dead" about season six along with lead actor Andrew Lincoln.

Den Of Geek extensively reports spoilers, such as how Gimple highlighted in the talk show that they are putting together something ambitious for season six. He reminded fans that the show reinvents itself every eight episodes and this will happen again in future. Actor Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, said in an interview that the Wolves are adept in trapping people and then butchering them. Of course viewers will see more of them in the upcoming season.

Based on Kirkman's comics, Deanna Monroe starts to realize that handing over leadership of Alexandria to Rick may be a good decision. She realizes her diplomatic approach may get them killed and it is widely speculated that within the first two-three episodes of season six she hands over the safe-zone's torch to Rick.

The Wolves are a big threat to the group. Their leader Derek talks to Rick while a sniper is aimed at the safe-zone's leader. Luckily, he is saved by one of his group members who takes down the person aiming the sniper.

Of course, no season of "The Walking Dead" is complete without a zombie invasion so expect a hoard of walkers overrunning the safe-zone. Abraham dies and Carl is shot in the eye. Neegan will either appear towards the end or at the middle of the season. Celebdirty Laundry reports that Neegan and his colony are a violent lot and have several outposts close to Deanna's safe-zone.

Jon Hamm said in an interview that he would love to play bad boy Neegan, however, so far this is just a rumor. Season six will likely air in the fall.
