'The Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers: Scott Gimple talks about Glenn's fate

"The Walking Dead" broke the Internet yesterday and also the hearts of many a fans. The shocking fate met by one of the show's most loved characters sure had people reacting, almost violently, and threatening to even boycott the zombie series. But is the said character really dead? The show's executive producer sheds some light.
Fair warning to those who have yet to watch last Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead," this post contains a whole lot of spoilers. So if being spoiled is not a reader's cup-of-tea, then watch the episode first.
Heading to the end of "Thank You," last Sunday's episode, Nicholas and Glenn find themselves cornered by a horde of walkers as they stand on top of a dumpster. Giving up all hopes of safety, Nicholas (Michael Traynor) kills himself, eventually dragging Glenn (Steven Yeun) down with him to the waiting and hungry zombies. Needless to say for those who have seen the episode, it seems inevitable that Glenn has already faced his death.
But in the hearts and minds of those who have come to love Glenn since season one, he is not dead yet. What does executive producer Scott M. Gimple have to say?
Gimple first answered the question ambiguously in the "Talking Dead" episode after "Thank You." Chris Hardwick read a statement that went, "In some way we will see Glenn — some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn — again. Either in flashback or the current story to help complete the story."
But Gimple remains vague about the topic. Talking to TVLine, he says he won't answer the question, "Is Glenn really dead?" but he did explain the manner in which Glenn's alleged death was shot.
"It was shot the way it was shot and it was edited the way it was edited and that is always deliberate. I spend a lot of time on these cuts, so take that as you will," he tells TVLine.
Gimple says fans will no longer have to wait "terribly long" to know about Glenn's fate. Find out more about Glenn's fate as "The Walking Dead" airs new episodes in AMC every Sunday night.
