'The Flash' season 2 spoilers: show returns Dec. 1 with major 'Flash/Arrow' crossover; Ras Al Ghul arranges a meeting with Savage, Barry and Oliver

It is Thanksgiving week and a lot of networks have opted to put several of their hit shows on a short break. One show that fans will be missing this week is The CW's "The Flash." However, the fans' patience will be rewarded when it returns as the show will kick off its second major crossover event with "Arrow."

In a synopsis for episode 8 of "The Flash" season 2, Kendra (Ciara Renee) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) are enjoying an evening out when Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) attacks them. Cisco calls Barry (Grant Gustin) for help in stopping the newest baddie in Central City. Barry quickly realizes that Vandal is a different kind of villain so he takes Kendra to Star City and asks help from Oliver (Stephen Amell). But even as they try to hide Kendra from Vandal, a mysterious man with wings (Falk Hentschel) appears and flies off with Kendra. The episode also reveals that Harrison (Tom Cavanagh) has developed a serum that would make Barry run faster and tests it out on Jay (Teddy Sears).

Fans are excited with all the superheroes that will be coming to Central City. The excitement is even easier to understand now that the trailer for the upcoming episode, titled "Legends of Today," is out. The clip starts with a shot of the heroes inside an elevator, followed by Oliver standing beside Felicity, telling their friends that he wishes it wasn't "just the dark times that brings them together." A man that appears to be chained up tells them that they're looking for an unstoppable immortal named Vandal Savage. Viewers are given a glimpse of the villain, looking menacing with his knives. Barry confidently asserts that they can stop Vandal. Oliver is seen shooting at someone while still wearing civilian clothes. He's standing with his friends and Barry can be seen speeding in from the side. The clip ends with Kendra falling from a building but then reveals she has wings. Cisco is understandably surprised.

Aside from the excess of heroes, viewers should also expect to see the new Ra's al Ghul, Malcolm Merlin (John Barrowman), as he sets up a meeting between the Flash, Green Arrow and Vandal. That certainly sounds like an interesting meet-up.

"The Flash" season 2 returns with the first part of the crossover on Dec. 1.
