'Thor: Ragnarok' update: God of Thunder's cameo in 'Doctor Strange' boosts speculations that Sorcerer Supreme will appear in next 'Thor' movie

(Facebook/Thor)Thor's appearance in "Doctor Strange" has bolstered the rumors that the Sorcerer Supreme will have a cameo in "Thor: Ragnarok."

Benedict Cumberbatch's "Doctor Strange" is casting a magic spell on the international box office, and it is expected to do so in Northern American theaters once it opens this Nov. 4. However, apart from the riveting movie on the whole that makes it another Marvel blockbuster, those who have already seen the movie are, likewise, talking about the Sorcerer Supreme's likely connection to another future Marvel movie: Chris Hemsworth's "Thor: Ragnarok."

As of this writing, "Doctor Strange" has already raked in $86 million abroad since it began showing internationally last week. While it's true that many who have already seen the movie are talking about how impressive its visual effects are, many can't also get over the post-credit scenes of the movie.

In the post credit scenes of "Doctor Strange," the Sorcerer Supreme hears a voice from a familiar character .

"So, Earth has wizards now?" asks Thor (Hemsworth).

"I keep a watchlist of individuals and beings from other realms that may be a threat to this world. Your adopted brother Loki is one of those beings. So...why bring him here to New York?" says Doctor Strange.

"So if you found Odin, you'd all adjourn to Asgard, promptly?" asks Doctor Strange to Thor after he explains that he and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) are looking for their father, Odin (Anthony Hopkins), who, in previous reports, is said to be a beggar on the streets of New York.

After Thor gave an affirmative answer to Doctor Strange's question, the Sorcerer Supreme says, "Right. Allow me to help you," which, for many Marvel fans, is a hint that the character will make a cameo in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok" movie.

Last August, speculations on the appearance of Doctor Strange in "Thor: Ragnarok" became louder after set photos of the upcoming movie leaked online. While the photos were devoid of Cumberbatch's presence, eagle-eyed fans were able to dissect one photo, revealing what's written on the piece of paper Hemsworth's Thor character is holding: 177A Bleecker Street, which is known as Doctor Strange's New York address.

With Thor's appearance in "Doctor Strange," it goes without saying that speculations on the possible appearance of the Sorcerer Supreme in "Thor: Ragnarok" have become even louder.

Will Doctor Strange really appear in "Thor: Ragnarok?" If yes, what will be his significance in the movie?

Find out when "Thor: Ragnarok" arrives in theaters in November next year.
