Popular anime, "Tokyo Ghoul" is set to come back for a new season, but before fans get too hyped up, it is turning out that season 3 may not come in 2016 as speculated.

The reason behind this can be attributed to the lack of source material to work with. Some fans see this delay as an opportunity to address certain issues like the deviating scenes seen in season 2 as not part of the manga. According to Breathecast, fans are requesting and hoping that season 3 would stick more to the source material and not deviate as to avoid any confusion.

If the issue still persists, fans may choose to petition to reboot the series altogether separating the anime completely from the manga wherein the anime will just take inspiration from the manga and translate it to how the story takes place in the anime. This may be a bad sign because it will result in two different endings for fans that read the manga and watch the anime.

Hopefully both the authors of the manga and producers of the anime could come up with a solution as to prevent the division of the fan base.

"Tokyo Ghoul" follows the story of Ken Kaneki who happens to be a college student and becomes a half ghoul after encountering Rize Kamishiro who is revealed to be a ghoul. Being a ghoul is taking a toll on Ken as he needs to consume human flesh to survive. Luckily, he was received in the coffee shop "Anteiku" that is managed by ghouls. From there, he is taught how to deal with his new life.

"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, on the other hand, follows Touka Kirishima—a fighter that wears a rabbit mask.

This is setting up to be an interesting season 3 for fans of the series. For more "Tokyo Ghoul" updates, stay tuned.
