'Tokyo Ghoul' season 3 rumors: Anime's upcoming season to arrive this winter; Ken Kaneki to assume a different identity

(Facebook/Tokyo Ghoul)"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is said to arrive this winter.

Fans have long anticipated the arrival of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, and, while the release date of the said anime remains up in the air as of this writing, there are already various rumors and speculations associated with it. However, among the numerous rumors about "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, the one saying that Ken Kaneki will have a new identity is the loudest.

While there are rumors claiming that "Tokyo Ghoul" is arriving this winter, Madhouse Entertainment has yet to release an official statement that will confirm it. Despite the lack of any official word on the release of "Tokyo Ghoul," though, it is already heavily speculated that Ken Kaneki will assume a new identity when the anime returns for its next season.

According to unconfirmed reports, Ken Kaneki will lose his memory following his defeat to Arima. Hence, he will have a new identity as a Ghoul Investigator: Haise Sasaki. While in the state of amnesia, it is said that Arima will help Ken Kaneki remember who he truly is. Although they will have a good relationship while Ken Kaneki does not remember things, Arima and Ken Kaneki will battle once more.

It is also said that the upcoming season 3 of "Tokyo Ghoul" will be undeniably gory. Reportedly, "Tokyo Ghoul" writer Sui Ishida has said that the upcoming season of the anime will be the bloodiest ever. For instance, when Ken Kaneki and Arima battle once again, the latter will slash his own throat. However, before his demise, Arima will instruct Ken Kaneki to claim that it was he who killed him so that he can declare himself as the One-Eyed King, the leader of the ghouls.

Despite the oozing blood and violent scenes, though, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will not be censored as its creators want to showcase the upcoming season just like how it is told in its manga counterpart. After all, the anime's season 2 was heavily criticized after it deviated from the events of its manga version.

Although many sources claim that the aforementioned will happen on "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, they are nothing but speculations at this point in time. Should "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 does arrive this winter, only then it can be confirmed whether these rumors are correct or otherwise.
