Now that "Transformers 5" is reportedly in the works and Michael Bay allegedly back in the saddle, fans are already looking forward to what the writers and the director will come up with. According to reports, the next "Transformers" movie might move away from the disappointing "Age of Extinction."

To ensure that the travesty that was the "Age of Extinction" does not happen again, Paramount reportedly spared no expense in creating a writers room, a style that's often used by TV shows when it comes to plotting out the season's storylines. The studio even went the extra step of populating the room with some of today's premier writers, like Akiva Goldsman, who will act as the team's head writer,  Andrew Barrer, Art Macum, Christina Hodson, Gabriel Ferran, Geneva Robertson–Dworet, Jeff Pinker, Ken Nolan, Lindsey Beer, Matt Holloway, Robert Kirkman, Steven S. DeKnight and Zak Penn.

The move appears to have done the trick as DeKnight described it as being "the best writers' room I've ever seen in my life" and said that they enjoyed plotting out stories, although he couldn't say what they have decided on. He added that it would still be months before their group can see what storyline should move forward and what should be discarded.

Even though the plot for "Transformers 5" is a heavily guarded secret at the moment, there have been rumors that the movie will be going in another direction, one that would take it away from "Age of Extinction."

This has been more or less confirmed by Mark Ryan, one of the actors in the film who lent his voice to the transformer, Jetfire. According to Ryan, the film is currently in two directions, with one focused on Cade and the other humans as they fight alongside the Autobots on Earth and the other reportedly focused on Optimus Prime heading to space to confront the giant transformer Unicron.

However, the 59-year-old actor cannot say which of the two directions will prevail. But he did mention that production for the movie will start next year.
