Damon Salvatore has had a difficult love life, especially when it comes to his romantic endeavors with Elena Gilbert. But Delena fans can rejoice, as TVLine reports that the two will finally find their way back to each other. Executive producer Julie Plec recently shared that Elena and Damon will share many romantic scenes together in the upcoming season. Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon, stated, "It's great to see anyone happy at any time." He also said that Damon and Elena are "extremely deserving" of the upcoming romantic bliss. "They've been through a lot. Love trumps all. So when you see, you want it to win."

Fashion & Style reported that although romance blooms between the two vampires, it may not last long as supernatural forces lurking in the midst may break them apart. Well, Delena fans are no strangers to abrupt romance endings between the two as shown in previous seasons.

The International Business Times also cites that Elena's handsome and beloved little brother, Jeremy Gilbert, will be leaving the show in episode 14 of the upcoming season. Played by Steven R. McQueen, Plec has indicated that the young hunter has been through his fair share of trials and tribulations, especially the death of his girlfriend, Bonnie, played by Kat Graham. While some sites report he may head over to art school, others speculate his death at the hands of Kai. But fans needn't expect a dramatic supernatural death as he might just bade goodbye to "Mystic Falls", according to a statement by Plec.

For now, Jeremy has a new mission, with the latest season wrapping up with him going back to his vampire-hunter roots and trapping Enzo. Unfortunately, Enzo gets away and locks Matt up. It remains to be seen what will happen next.
