'Watch Dogs 2' release date news: Ubisoft's follow up could catapult massive sales

(Facebook / Watch Dogs)"Watch Dogs 2" could be on its way to becoming one of Ubisoft's best-selling games.

"Watch Dogs 2" could very well be crowned right now as it could be on its way to massive sales.

According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillermot, the "Watch Dog" sequel's seamless online functionality, along with its player co-op, are keys that will drive the game to its success. Also, he noted that the game's storyline are purported to have engaging characters like Marcus Holloway who will get the players engaged instantaneously. He added that these could bring the newest entry in the same league of games which struck critical and commercial success in the gaming sector.

"We believe that 'Watch Dogs 2' is a very high potential AAA blockbuster for this year," CFO Alain Martinez said through Videogamer.com. "We haven't given...exactly the number of units [we] expect to deliver, but we do believe that Watch Dogs 2 will sit very close to what Watch Dogs did last time. And as you said we might expect better."

But given all of these predictions, could "Watch Dogs 2" really follow the success of its predecessor? Given the current hype the game has been getting, it is not that difficult to speculate in that route. It is to be noted that the debut of "Watch Dogs 2" at E3 previously has already racked up some rave reviews.

The people behind the success of the "Watch Dogs" were quick to add that in order to determine the success of the upcoming game, one must know first the specifics its predecessor has come to achieve. "Watch Dogs" was able to sell a massive 4 million copies back in 2014, easily breaking records during that year, according to reports.

Ubisoft is set to launch "Watch Dogs 2" in November with game versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC.
