After the death of Danielle Cormack's Bea Smith character in the season 4 finale of "Wentworth," rumors claiming that the Australian TV series will be ushering in a new character to be portrayed by Liam Hemsworth started to surface online. Despite the persistence of the said rumors, though, the latest reports say that Hemsworth's inclusion in "Wentworth" season 5 is still not confirmed.

While there are some "Wentworth" fans who are still hoping that Bea did not really die after Joan "The Freak" Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) stabbed her multiple times with a screwdriver in the previous season finale episode, it seems that the character's death in the series is cut and dried as confirmed by "Wentworth" producer Jo Porter. 

"As producers, it is always our intention to keep audiences guessing and on the edge of their seats. While the shoes of Bea Smith will be hard to fill, with the start of season five the gates of Wentworth Correctional Facility will again open to a raft of potential new stories and characters," goes the portion of the statement released by Porter last year.

Rumors claim that "Wentworth" season 5 will be adding a new character who will serve as the facility's tough warden, and the role will be portrayed by Hemsworth. Allegedly, Hemsworth's character will help Bea's lover, Allie Novak (Kate Jenkinson), to avenge her death.

While rumors on Hemsworth being one of the new characters that will be welcomed to "Wentworth" season 5 are loud and will be a great addition to the show if it turns out to be true, fans are advised to hold their horses for now. After all, the latest reports claim that his inclusion in the TV series that is considered to be the Australian version of Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black" is still unconfirmed.

Meanwhile, "Wentworth" season 5 does not have an official release date yet. However, the series is expected to arrive within the year. Once it happens, only then can it be confirmed whether Hemsworth will really be a part of the series or not.
