Good news for "Games of Thrones" fans. Author George R.R. Martin is determined to release the next volume of his epic tale before season 6 of the TV series starts.

Now that the fifth season of the HBO series is drawing to a close, the 66-year-old author wants to finish "The Winds of Winter", the next volume of his epic novel before season 6 starts. In order to do that, GRRM has decided to cut down on all public appearances and interviews so he'll have more time to write. He has also declined from writing an episode for the season.

In an interview with EW, the American novelist talked about what he has done to get more writing time in.

According to him, he might be "overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish, but I cancelled two convention appearances (San Diego Comic Con and World Convention), I'm turning down a lot more interviews - anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done."

One way that fans can help is for them to stop bothering him with questions or comments about the book or the TV series.

"Please stop emailing me or posting off-topic comments," he requested, before adding that he needs to concentrate on finishing "The Winds of Winter."

He advised fans that if they do feel the need to ask questions, discuss spoilers or pick apart the latest episode of "Game of Thrones", they should do so on community sites like "Watchers on the Walls" or "Tower of the Hand."

The acclaimed fantasy writer has about a year to wrap up his next book but he seems confident that he will be able to do it. He is even set to preview a chapter of his new book at ConQuest 2015 which will be held at Germany's Hannover City in August. GRRM did not specify what chapter he will be previewing but reports say that it will be about Sansa Stark and titled "Alayne."
